With this grant cycle, the Catalyst Fund transitioned to a simplified and streamlined single-stage application process.
A single Request for Proposals for the 2020 grant cycle invited proposals for both the open Landscape Conservation Partnership portion of the Fund and the reserved Indigenous-led Partnerships portion of the Fund–Read the RFP here. A supplemental guidance document was also issued, intended to help applicants determine their fit with the Catalyst Fund and how to submit a strong proposal–Read the Applicant Guidance Document here.

The Catalyst Fund considered proposals in two categories during the 2019 grant cycle:
- An “All Communities” Catalyst Fund application process that was open to all eligible landscape conservation partnerships in the United States. Read the All Communities RFP here.
- An “Indigenous Communities” Catalyst Fund application process that was open to all eligible landscape conservation partnerships that are Indigenous-led and primarily serving Indigenous communities. Read the Indigenous Communities RFP here.
